The faster the release time of a compressor, the more “up front” or “in your face” the audio will sound. The slower the release time of a compressor, the more “pushed back” or “not so in your face” the audio will sound.

That’s interesting, but I find that faster release times bring up the reverb, or “room sound”. I usually keep it between 250 and 300ms, where I think that effect goes away
Yes, Pedro – we are in agreement, the faster release seems to bring EVERYTHING more forward 😉 And fyi, I usually set release times (for podcast voices) anywhere from 300-380 ms. Rock on, Pedro!
