The sample rate of audio describes how many digital “snapshots” (or samples) per second were taken of the original analog signal when converting that analog signal to digital.
The higher the sample rate, the more accurately the digital information represents the original analog signal. Higher sample rate equals higher resolution.
Standard sample rates are 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz.

Don’t forget that the higher the resolution, the bigger the file.
I think if it as the difference between Granulated Sugar, Castor Sugar and Icing Sugar.
Granulated Sugar is fine for most things, like putting in tea and coffee.
Caster sugar works well for making cakes where you want a finer texture, but increases the sweetness for quantity as it is denser.
Icing sugar is used for the frosting and decoration where you need the finest details. It is also calorie dense.
You probably use different terms over the water.
