Brainworx bx_console Focusrite SC

Brainworx bx_console Focusrite SC

The Brainworx bx_console Focusrite SC plugin is a channel strip plugin containing compressor, EQ, gate, filters, de-esser, saturation, and of course analog hardware emulation.

It is renowned as one of the cleanest and transparent and frankly best sounding plugins on the market.

Regular price is $349.

I’ll be experimenting with this plugin a lot over the next few weeks.

If you already use this one, please let me know how you like it 😉

  1. Hey Chris, I got a copy from Dan and I’ve used it a few times (on his show, primarily) and I think it sounds very good. It’s fairly easy to work with and I like the de-esser / exciter.

To my ears, it sounds a little smoother than the Scheps. And the saturation/THD is very cool. However, I do miss all the options that come with the Scheps and I REALLY miss being able to CTRL+Click to solo the frequencies to sweep ranges with EQ rather than having to increase gain and Q, sweep, and then reset. I also miss having a little more precision on some of the elements like the compressor ratio, though I know that it’s because it was modeled on a piece of gear that operated just like the plugin does.

I find myself wishing that I could use both the Scheps and the Focusrite at the same time because the Focusrite really does sound good. Or maybe just feels good to my ears.
