I feel exactly the same way about having something tactile for volume. I love the Audient stuff because they have the knob. It’s just so comforting having it next to me like a trusty companion.
It’s a bit like giving like when we used to give the over enthusiastic new producers a couple of faders to play with on a desk / of course they actually did nothing, but gave them something to do
