As an editor, I want to punch myself in the face any time somebody tells me that they are sending me Zencastr files. I know that 40% of the time they are going to have nonlinear drift that is so annoying to repair. I despise it.
The JBL 305’s are a great monitor. I used the 305’s for a couple of years and then upgraded to the 306’s which are also very good. Didn’t have room for 8″ monitors and the 6.5″ are a perfect fit. Same great sound as the 305’s with a larger bottom end but not boomy.
One of the things I love about Audition is how simple it is to add and shape your fades. There is no “Fade standard”. Every fade can be different. Like you said, use your ears.
I also mix and master in DAW but I also know what my export LUFS will be before exporting. When I export it’s over. Done. Boom. I add meters to the master so that I’m always managing the loudness. I never understood why people flip flop between multiple DAW and editors.
Have you seen the “Mix Challenge With Andrew Scheps” Produce Like a Pro youtube video where Andrew Scheps goes into detail with his plugin? It’s really nice.
Love the show!
