My Current List of Mastering Plugins
Which plugins am I currently using for mastering?
Note: I don’t use every single one of these on every episode. And I only use them on the mix of voices, not the music.
My full list of mastering plugins which I currently pick from: (Note: I own many more “mastering” plugins but I’m not currently using them)
- Gullfoss (fyi, I don’t use this often)
- True Iron
- Fabfilter Pro-MB
- Ozone 9
- Aquamarine 4 EQ
- Aquamarine 4 Dual Compressor
- Fabfilter Saturn
The 3 plugins I currently use on almost every episode:
- True Iron (gently)
- Aquamarine 4 EQ
- Aquamarine 4 Dual Compressor (my favorite compressor ever…..so far)

If one uses Hindenburg Journalist Pro on a monologue podcast, what really would be essential?

Hi Harry! None of these plugins are “essential.” If you use good mic technique during your monologue you can get away with not using any of these. Also, if you _DO_ want to use some processing, you can choose from the many processors included within Hindenburg. No need to spend extra money on plugins unless you’re an audio maniac like me 😉

The ONLY problem is {occasionally, sometimes} background noise [eg passing ambulance or noisey motorbike]!
As my podcasts are [no longer than 20-minutes] I just usually re-record.
Any other suggestion?
