    I usually start around the 3:1, but it depends. I rarely go above 4:1 and usually below 3:1.

    I prefer to add the compression in a little and often fashion rather than at one go.

    Well, I record dry to tape, so I guest 1:1 🙂

    However, in post, I’m typically 3.5:1 to 4:1 on the channel strip and then 2:1 on the master bus.
